Twitch has opened Creator Sponsorships to eligible Affiliates worldwide, bringing brand discovery, campaign acceptance, execution and related workflows into the platform’s Sponsorship Dashboard from August 20.
The expansion lowers a long-standing commercial barrier for smaller streamers. Before the change, the system was primarily aimed at Partners, with limited Affiliate participation through selected campaigns such as Minecraft. Affiliates who meet a brand’s screening requirements can now access opportunities directly through Twitch, subject to completing Creator Sponsorship Certification covering campaigns, brand safety and sponsored streams.
Why It Matters
Twitch is also integrating third-party opportunities from creator marketing platform Wehype into the Dashboard. One of the first public examples is an Electronic Arts campaign for Battlefield arranged through Wehype. The structure gives Twitch a role across the full chain: creator profile, training, brand discovery, campaign matching and execution.
The scale is already visible. At TwitchCon Rotterdam, Twitch said the number of streamers participating in Creator Sponsorships in 2026 had reached roughly three times the 2025 level. A Minecraft campaign attracted more than 6,000 streamers, with Affiliates representing more than half of participants.
What Changed
That is more than another monetization option for streamers. Brand sponsorship in gaming has traditionally been fragmented across agencies, direct sales teams and manual coordination. Standardizing eligibility, education and campaign delivery could make hundreds or thousands of mid-sized creators usable in one activation, instead of limiting publishers to a small group of top creators.
What to Watch
- The number and type of Affiliate campaigns available after the global rollout, including whether publishers use the Wehype integration beyond the first EA example.
- Certification completion, campaign acceptance and repeat participation, which will show whether the workflow converts eligibility into real creator income.
- Brand-safety, creator-fit and audience-response signals as campaign volume grows.
