Editorial Standards & Methodology

Press The Game publishes original reporting, source-aware analysis, news, and industry reference pages. This page explains how we distinguish those formats and how readers can evaluate the evidence behind our work.

Editorial ownership and independence

Press The Game is an independent publication. Editorial decisions are made by PTG’s editorial team.

Source hierarchy

We prefer the closest available source for each factual claim. The order below guides reporting; it does not make every source within a tier equally reliable.

  1. Official records:regulatory filings, government publications, court records, company investor materials, and official competition rules or results.
  2. Original PTG reporting:recorded interviews, direct statements, event access, and first-hand observation.
  3. Established reporting:attributable work from professional newsrooms and specialist publications with identifiable authorship.
  4. Secondary databases and community sources:used for discovery or supporting context and independently checked when they support a material claim.

Reporting and source labels

Original interviews and on-site reporting identify the reporter and relevant access. Articles based on official or external material link to the primary source whenever it is publicly available. “Primary source” describes the source of the claim; it does not imply that Press The Game originated that information. Analysis should separate verified facts from PTG's interpretation.

When a useful source is not in English, we identify the original publisher and language where practical. Translations preserve the meaning of the source rather than presenting translated wording as a direct English quotation.

Entities, events, and relationships

Structured pages distinguish organizations, clubs, competitive teams, rosters, brands, event series, and individual event editions. A page connection is not by itself proof of a real-world relationship. Material relationships should identify their role, status, applicable dates, supporting source, and last verification date when those fields are available.

Updates and corrections

Event schedules, rosters, commercial relationships, and company details can change. Material updates should carry an updated or last-verified date. When a published fact is wrong, we correct it promptly and add a correction note when the change materially affects the article's conclusion or a reader's understanding. Silent changes are reserved for spelling, formatting, and other non-substantive fixes.

Use of artificial intelligence

Automated tools may assist with transcription, translation, research organization, metadata, or drafting. They are not treated as factual sources. Editorially published work is reviewed by a human editor, and material claims must be checked against attributable evidence.

Contact and corrections

Readers and organizations are encouraged to report factual errors or provide stronger primary evidence. Include the page URL, the disputed claim, and a supporting source when contacting the editorial team at contact@pressthegame.com.
