The official Pokémon UNITE website announced that service for Pokémon UNITE will end at 00:00 UTC on March 23, 2027, on Nintendo Switch and mobile. The shutdown comes nearly six years after the game launched on Switch in July 2021.[1][2]

The global UNITE Championship Series ran for five seasons, from 2022 through 2026, and concluded after the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. Pokémon UNITE also appeared in the 2026 Asian Games esports programme, where Japan beat Indonesia 3–1 in the final to win gold. JeSU reported that 10 countries and regions entered the title.[3][6][7]

The game’s final announced international competition is Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027, a standalone event with online qualifiers leading to a Tokyo final on March 20–21. The 32-team field includes 31 regional winners and ZETA DIVISION Pokémon UNITE, the 2026 world champion. The final ends two calendar days before service shuts down.[3][5][8]

The shutdown notice says Aeos Gem sales, new UNITE Club memberships and automatic renewals stopped on Oct. 27 at 05:00 UTC. Current members keep their benefits through the end of their paid term, and players can use existing Gems until shutdown. A Nov. 12 update is scheduled to begin a special event and add a library feature; players who complete the required data download before March 23 can later view certain unlocked items and records, but will no longer be able to log in or battle.[2]
