The Call of Duty League will begin its 2027 season on December 4, 2026, with a two-week online Kickoff Classic, then run four Major LAN events before an OpTic Texas-hosted Championship Weekend on July 8–11, 2027. The league’s announcement, published October 14, says the season will be played on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and streamed on YouTube and Twitch, with fan co-streams continuing. M80 Boston joins the league as a new team for the season.

The four Majors are set for Europe, Birmingham, Toronto and the western United States. The league has not named the city for Major I, Major IV or Championship Weekend. It says dates and locations may change.

The Kickoff Classic will bring the CDL teams together with the top two North American Challengers teams from each of the first two Challengers Cups. Teams rank one another to set the CDL seeds; the top eight teams from Week 1 advance to a Week 2 double-elimination bracket. The season also includes three 16-team online Minors with single-elimination brackets and North American Challengers entrants. The league says the top eight CDL teams receive one or two byes, based on their seeding.

Major I, III and IV use online qualifiers across four, four and three weeks respectively. Major II instead has two separate two-week qualifying tournaments: a 12-team double-elimination event, followed by round-robin play in four groups of three, with the top two from each group advancing to an eight-team double-elimination bracket. Major III adds a play-in for the six lowest qualifying teams; its top two advance to the eight-team main bracket. Major II and IV are LAN Pro-Ams. Challengers Opens will return at every Major, and the top two teams from each preceding Open plus the North American and EMEA Elite season winners qualify for those two Pro-Ams.

Matches will use Hardpoint, Search & Destroy and the new Modern Warfare 4 mode Hijack. Coaches may be on stage at every LAN event and speak to players between Search & Destroy rounds and during respawn modes. The league also changes online-qualifier coin flips so that, in a second meeting between the same teams, the team that lost the first flip automatically wins the second. In Major best-of-seven finals, the lower-bracket team’s map bans are removed from the veto process for all three modes, giving the upper-bracket team a larger advantage. The CDL says its points system remains in line with the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The Call of Duty Challengers season begins November 14, 2026, with its first Cup.
