PlayStation, the gaming brand operated by Sony Interactive Entertainment, announced on Sept. 21 that it will extend its collaboration with Lisa into a limited-edition DualSense wireless controller and a new merchandise collection. The controller will be available globally in highly limited quantities from Oct. 30, with pre-orders beginning Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. local time where offered. PlayStation lists a recommended price of $84.99, €84.99, £74.99 or ¥12,480, including tax for the Japanese price.
The U.S. merchandise collection will include apparel, hats, tote bags, keychains, stickers, a DualSense controller carrying case and other items. PlayStation says selected merchandise will be available to pre-order directly from PlayStation on Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. ET and launch on Oct. 30. Additional items are scheduled for Oct. 23 through Lisa’s official Amazon store and the Amazon Music app.
Why It Matters
The announcement turns a celebrity-led PS5 campaign into a product and retail program. PlayStation says it first worked with Lisa on a global PS5 campaign last year; the new launch gives that relationship a physical hardware anchor and a broader lifestyle assortment.
The design is also built around Lisa-specific signals rather than only a co-branded logo. Her bangs and eyes appear on the DualSense touch pad, while stars, “LL” lettering and a Chroma Pearl finish carry the visual system across the controller. That makes the activation legible both as a PlayStation accessory and as a collectible tied to Lisa’s music and fashion audience.
The commercial model depends on staged access and constrained supply. The controller is positioned as a global release, while the merchandise announcement is explicitly U.S.-focused and uses separate PlayStation and Amazon distribution windows. The available information does not establish production volume, sell-through targets or a full country-by-country merchandise rollout.
What Changed
The new development is the move from a campaign collaboration to limited physical products. The controller is now scheduled for Oct. 30, with pre-orders opening Oct. 2 in the U.S. and in the U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg through PlayStation’s listed channels, while supplies last.
The merchandise has a different scope and timetable. PlayStation says two limited U.S. assortments will launch across direct PlayStation and Lisa’s official Amazon channels, with the Amazon and Amazon Music items arriving a week before the Oct. 30 direct launch. Lisa’s new EP, Press Play, is also scheduled for Oct. 23, placing the merchandise window alongside a separate music release.
What to Watch
- The Oct. 2 pre-order opening, including how quickly the controller inventory moves and whether the named markets receive comparable allocations.
- The Oct. 23 Amazon and Amazon Music launch, which should clarify the actual U.S. merchandise assortment and whether all advertised categories are available at once.
- The Oct. 30 controller launch and participating-retailer list, which will show how the global announcement translates into physical availability beyond the named direct-order markets.
- The Oct. 23 release of Press Play, which will show whether the hardware, merchandise and music launches are being operated as one coordinated fan campaign.
