The next Riyadh edition of the New Global Sport Conference will take place in 2027, according to an official update published by the conference on Sept. 22. The move follows the Esports Foundation’s decision to postpone the inaugural Esports Nations Cup from November 2026 to November 2027. The update separately says NGSC’s first international edition took place in Paris during the 2026 Esports World Cup, so the change applies to the Riyadh conference rather than cancelling all 2026 NGSC activity.

The organizer said the mid-August timing is intended to retain the combination of major competition and the conversations, connections and commercial opportunities around it. The practical effect is a rescheduled Riyadh edition, not a reversal of the Paris 2026 international edition.
NGSC remains positioned as a business forum connecting gaming, esports, sport, technology and investment. Its “Defining Victory” theme keeps the focus on how AI, capital, ownership structures, commercial innovation and fan behavior are changing value creation. Those are the organizer’s stated areas of focus, not evidence that any specific investment, ownership or partnership outcome has already been agreed.
What Changed
The timeline now has three clear stages. On June 29, NGSC announced a Riyadh conference for October 30–November 1, 2026 and a Paris summit during EWC 2026. On August 18, the Foundation moved the ENC from November 2026 to November 2027. On September 22, NGSC said the next Riyadh conference would move to 2027 and would currently be expected around the traditional mid-August period. Exact dates, venue, speaker list and programme format remain unpublished.
The Paris component is now a completed 2026 milestone: NGSC’s first international edition took place during the 2026 Esports World Cup. It should therefore be read separately from the rescheduled Riyadh conference.
The earlier announcement had set NGSC26’s theme as “Defining Victory” and described a new invitation-only opening day, with further programme and speaker details to follow. The latest update confirms the theme continues into 2027 but does not say whether the opening-day format, the Sofitel venue or any other 2026-specific arrangements will carry over.
