The Esports Foundation announced on August 18 that the inaugural Esports Nations Cup would move from November 2026 to November 2027. Riyadh remains the planned host. The foundation attributed the decision to uncertainty around the wider regional situation and consultations with stakeholders; those are its stated reasons.
The organizer said existing Development Fund commitments to National Team Partners and related ecosystem programs would continue during the extra year. It also said it would work with publishers and national partners on the revised schedule. The announcement did not set exact November 2027 dates or a new qualification calendar.
For teams and commercial partners, the next concrete test is the revised calendar and whether previously announced participation and funding commitments carry through to it. The postponement itself is confirmed by the organizer; the effect on individual partners remains to be established.
