FENNEL, an esports club in Japan, and technology-solutions company PERSOL CROSS TECHNOLOGY announced on Oct. 1 a joint initiative to use AI to visualize and quantify the quality of in-game communication, according to FENNEL’s announcement.
With PERSOL CROSS TECHNOLOGY’s support in AI and data analysis, FENNEL aims to develop a system that turns voice-chat communication into quantitative data. The partners intend to use it for coaching, seeking insights that could support player development and improve team performance.
PERSOL CROSS TECHNOLOGY’s accompanying release says FENNEL also aims to develop new metrics for examining player interactions through trials in training environments. FENNEL is considering sharing findings through seminars and discussions.
The companies have had a sponsorship relationship since July 2026. Their July 1 announcement included planned logo placement on players’ off-duty jerseys and said they were considering AI and data-analysis initiatives. October’s announcement gives that technology cooperation a specific focus: analyzing team voice communication and developing ways to assess it in training.
