The National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) is the public-facing nameplate used by China’s Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee for press and publication administration. China’s 2018 institutional reform transferred press and publication management responsibilities to the department and placed the NPPA and National Copyright Administration nameplates there.

The NPPA’s official website lists publishing approval and licensing services and publishes online game approval registers. Those registers include domestic and imported online games, as well as changes to existing approvals, and provide the official publication and operating entities recorded for each title.

PTG uses the NPPA’s registers as primary sources for coverage of game publishing approvals in China.
