PTG Database Analysis
The Call of Duty League 2027 season is scheduled to run from December 4, 2026, through July 11, 2027, on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Activision’s official announcement sets the competitive season’s dates, online qualifiers, Pro-Am events and four Major LAN stages. It says dates and locations may change.
The schedule opens with the two-week online Kickoff Classic from December 4–13, followed by Minor 1 (January 8–10) and Major I qualifiers (January 15–February 7). Major I is scheduled for Europe on February 12–14, with its city to be announced. Minor 2 runs February 26–28. Major II qualifying spans March 5–28 across two online tournaments, ahead of the April 2–4 LAN at DreamHack in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Minor 3 is set for April 16–18. Major III qualifiers run April 23–May 16, followed by the Toronto LAN from May 20–23, hosted by Toronto KOI. Major IV qualifiers run May 28–June 13. Its LAN is scheduled for June 18–20 on the U.S. West Coast, with the city to be announced. Championship Weekend follows July 8–11; the location is also to be announced, and OpTic Texas is the host team.[1]
Major II’s official DreamHack event listing places it at the NEC in Birmingham on April 2–4.[3]
The season adds M80 Boston as a league team. The official schedule lists 12 CDL teams. The Kickoff Classic also includes the top two North American teams from each of the first two Challengers Cups. Three 16-team online Minors use single-elimination brackets and include North American Challengers entrants. The top eight CDL teams receive one or two byes in those Minors, based on their seeds.
Major I, III and IV use online qualifiers across four, four and three weeks, respectively. Major II has two separate two-week qualifiers: a 12-team double-elimination tournament, then round-robin play in four groups of three, with each group’s top two advancing to an eight-team double-elimination bracket. Major III adds a play-in for its six lowest qualifying teams, with the top two advancing to the eight-team main bracket. Major II and IV are LAN Pro-Ams. Challengers Opens return at every Major; the top two teams from each preceding Open plus the North American and EMEA Elite season winners qualify for the two Pro-Ams.
Matches will use Hardpoint, Search & Destroy and the new Modern Warfare 4 mode Hijack. Coaches may be on stage at every LAN event and speak to players between Search & Destroy rounds and during respawn modes. The league also changes online-qualifier coin flips: when the same teams meet a second time, the team that lost the first flip automatically wins the second. In Major best-of-seven finals, the lower-bracket team’s map bans are removed from the veto process for all three modes, giving the upper-bracket team a larger advantage. CDL says its points system remains aligned with the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Call of Duty Challengers begins November 14, 2026, with its first Cup.
