Overview
Riot moved the planned Mid-Season Invitational from May to July 3–19, 2020, while keeping the host location unannounced.[1] On April 23, Riot said it would not hold the event that year after reviewing health and safety conditions and the expected continuation of travel and public-gathering restrictions.[2] Leaguepedia records the edition as cancelled; 12 regional champions had been planned, but the event produced no participants, matches, champion, or prize result.[3][4]
Riot separately introduced the Mid-Season Cup 2020, an LCK–LPL competition. It has its own edition record and is not an MSI result or edition.[5]
