PTG Database Analysis

ESL announced Intel Extreme Masters XV - Melbourne as an August 2020 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event within the ESL Pro Tour and Intel Grand Slam. The original plan called for 16 teams and a USD 250,000 prize pool, with its playoff matches at Rod Laver Arena during the Melbourne Esports Open. On May 5, ESL said the Melbourne event would not take place in 2020 and was rescheduled to 2021. The 2020 edition was not played.[1][2]

The Liquipedia S-Tier page records an Aug 17–23 tournament window and lists Intel, Acer Predator and MTN DEW GAME FUEL as sponsors. ESL’s announcement confirms Intel’s title association; the other two sponsor listings are supported here by Liquipedia. ESL announced a field of 16 but did not identify participating teams before postponing the event, so the Participants tab remains empty rather than carrying teams over from the later Melbourne edition.[1][3]
