PTG Database Analysis
Intel and ESL announced IEM Katowice 2020 as the first Masters Championship of the ESL Pro Tour, with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and a USD 500,000 prize pool. Sixteen teams played from February 24 to March 1; the playoffs were scheduled at Spodek Arena in Katowice from February 28 to March 1.[1] ESL later recorded that IEM Katowice was played without a live audience, its first such event in 2020.[7]
Natus Vincere defeated G2 Esports in the final. The published final standings place Astralis and fnatic third–fourth, with the remaining 12 teams divided into three four-team placement bands.[3]
The verified partner records include Intel as title sponsor, Acer Predator as an event sponsor, and Euronics as the official electronics retail partner for the 2020 IEM sponsorship program.[1][5][4]
