PTG Database Analysis

The Counter-Strike competition at ESWC 2006 ran in Paris from June 30 to July 2, within the wider Grand Final festival of June 28–July 2. The event took place at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, now known as Accor Arena, and featured 44 teams. Made in Brazil won the title and USD 52,000 from the USD 160,000 Counter-Strike prize pool.[1][2][3]

Contemporary coverage identifies Games-Services as the company behind the 2006 ESWC. Liquipedia’s current infobox labels Oxent as organizer, but Oxent’s later acquisition of ESWC does not make it the operator of this 2006 edition. Liquipedia’s eight group tables name 44 teams, while HLTV’s displayed standings add four distinct teams not present in those tables. PTG now links all 48 distinct names across the two source records; participant coverage remains partial because the sources do not reconcile to the 44-team infobox count.[1][2][4]

The official ESWC archive lists 16 main partners for the wider festival. This record links the nine verified partners that already have canonical PTG pages; their presence in the festival partner list does not establish a separate Counter-Strike-only activation. The participant tab links 16 teams placed through 16th place, including wNv.eu Counter-Strike, TyLoo.raw Counter-Strike, JaS Counter-Strike, Excello Counter-Strike, virtuoso Counter-Strike, Evil Geniuses Counter-Strike, Jax Money Crew Counter-Strike and Spirit of Amiga Counter-Strike. With 44 teams overall, participant coverage remains partial.[2][3]
