The sixth AIC edition ran from June 16 through July 10, 2022. The published group draw named 16 teams, but Garena’s event schedule states that 15 teams gathered for the competition and reports played group matches; ONE Esports Vietnam reports that YaLLa Esports did not participate. The page therefore counts the 15 teams that played and keeps YaLLa out of the participant relationships.[1][2][7]
The event used two group-stage phases, followed by playoffs and a July 10 grand final. V Gaming defeated ONE Team Esports 4–1 to win the championship. Garena and Level Infinite advertised a USD 2 million pool, while Liquipedia’s result table records USD 1.685 million for the main-event placements; the sources differ in whether qualification allocations are included.[1][2][3][4][5]
The competition used a hybrid arrangement: reporting by Esports Charts says Vietnamese and non-Asian teams played from AOG Studios in Ho Chi Minh City, while teams from Garena-managed regions played remotely. Garena documented regional audience activations, including GCS-team support ambassadors and in-game events; a separate event report identifies table-tennis player Chiang Hung-chieh, sprinter Yang Chun-han and shooter Wu Chia-ying as esports-spirit ambassadors. These were promotional roles, not competition participants or confirmed commercial sponsors. No additional sponsor relationship is recorded in the reviewed materials. All 15 actual participants resolve to canonical Arena of Valor Team profiles and participant relationships, with Garena’s official Chinese lineup evidence used for event-era roster details where available.[1][2][4][8][9][10]
