PTG Database Analysis
Dhoni’s authority is grounded in his international cricket record. BCCI records India’s 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy titles under his captaincy, and the ICC records his international career from 2004 through 2019 and his 2025 Hall of Fame induction.[1][2]
Google’s Arena announcement establishes a separate, event-specific connection: Mahi Clutchers is Dhoni’s club for the 2026 championship, with qualifying players expected to compete under his banner. The source does not establish that he owns a separate esports company or has a wider esports operation. Any activation would need to distinguish his personal rights from rights controlled by Mahi Clutchers, Google Play Arena’s organizers and the game publishers.[3]
