The 2021 Mid-Season Invitational brought the spring champions of Riot’s regional leagues to Reykjavík. Twelve regions qualified a representative, but travel restrictions prevented the VCS champion GAM Esports from attending, leaving an 11-team field. The competition used a group stage, a Rumble Stage and a knockout bracket. Royal Never Give Up beat DWG KIA 3–2 in the final. Esports Charts reported a tournament peak of 1.8 million viewers and 61.1 million hours watched, excluding Chinese platform data. The posted USD 250,000 figure was a minimum base pool before designated in-game sales.[1][2][3][5]
