PTG Database Analysis

ESL held the first Global Challenge of IEM Season VI at the Energie³ ESL Arena in Hall 9 of Gamescom at Cologne Exhibition Centre from August 17–21, 2011. League of Legends and StarCraft II were played; the event’s season announcement explicitly excluded Counter-Strike. The League of Legends competition featured eight teams and a USD 32,000 pool, while the StarCraft II competition featured 16 players and a separately recorded USD 21,000 pool. Counter Logic Gaming defeated TSM to win League of Legends. The combined USD 53,000 snapshot sums the two verified game-level pools.[1][3][4][5]

The League of Legends format used round-robin groups with best-of-one matches, followed by single-elimination best-of-three playoffs. All eight listed League of Legends teams now resolve to canonical PTG Team or Club profiles, including myRevenge, Team ALTERNATE and Frag eXecutors. The overall participant field remains partial because the 16-player StarCraft II competition has not been reconciled to canonical PTG profiles.[1][2]
