PTG Database Analysis
The ESL Pro League Season 3 finals ran May 11–15, 2016, across two cities. The first two days of group-stage matches were closed to the public at ESL’s Leicester studio; after a travel day, the semifinal and final playoff stage moved to indigo at The O2 in London on May 14–15. Eight teams qualified, four each from Europe and North America.[2][3][6]
The group stage used two double-elimination groups. The top two teams in each group advanced to a single-elimination playoff bracket, with best-of-three semifinals and a best-of-five grand final.[2]
Luminosity Gaming defeated G2 Esports 3–2 in the best-of-five final. The finals payout table totals USD 512,000; ESL’s contemporary USD 750,000 figure referred to the wider Season 3 prize pool.[4][5][6]
Liquipedia lists BenQ, Alienware, Logitech, G2A.com and gamed!de as finals sponsors. ESL’s 2016 partnership announcement names Pro League among the competitions supported by Logitech G.[1][7]
