The inaugural KWC ran from July 15 to 26, 2025, at the 5v5 Arena in Boulevard Riyadh City. The 18-team tournament used a group phase followed by last-chance and playoff stages. KPL’s Chinese-language announcement lists a USD 3 million prize pool and says the KPL Spring champion and ACL Honor of Kings champion entered directly in the playoffs. The official results release confirms that Chengdu AG Super Play, competing under the AG.AL identity, beat Guangzhou TTG Honor of Kings, competing under the TT Global name, 4–3 and earned USD 750,000; the final MVP was Zoe. The event was part of the 2025 Esports World Cup.[1][2][3]
The official event release and rules identify Tencent as host. HONOR’s EWC partnership announcement specifically includes devices for Honor of Kings competitors, so the relationship is recorded as an EWC program partnership with KWC application, rather than as an independent KWC sponsorship. The official rules refer to a third-party tournament organizer but do not name that operator in the accessible rules text.[1][6]
