Two four-team GSL groups used best-of-one openers and best-of-three elimination and decider matches; the top two from each group advanced to best-of-three single-elimination playoffs.[1][4]
Immortals defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas in the final. Astralis and GODSENT placed third–fourth; SK Gaming and Epsilon placed fifth–sixth; ENCE and HellRaisers finished seventh–eighth. The listed prize pool was USD 100,000.[1][2]
ZOWIE’s 2016 announcement identifies the brand as DreamHack Open’s circuit title sponsor and official monitor provider, a circuit that included the Summer stop.[3]
