PTG Database Analysis

DreamHack Open Leipzig 2016 was an eight-team S-Tier Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament held at Leipziger Messe from January 22 to 24. Two four-team groups used a GSL format: opening matches were best-of-one, with elimination and decider matches best-of-three. The top two teams from each group advanced to a best-of-three single-elimination playoff.[1][2]

Natus Vincere won the event, defeating Luminosity Gaming in the final. Team Dignitas and Astralis placed third–fourth. FaZe Clan and mousesports finished fifth–sixth, while SK Gaming and Virtus.pro placed seventh–eighth. The listed prize pool was USD 100,000.[1][3]

Liquipedia lists XMG, ASUS, Ballistix, Monster Energy, ROCCAT and Sound BlasterX as event sponsors. ZOWIE’s January 2016 announcement described a broader DreamHack Open circuit agreement: title sponsorship and official monitor supply across the 2016 circuit, which included Leipzig.[1][4]
