Overview
AWC 2021 was an online global championship held June 19–July 18. The official Tencent Games and Garena announcement described an eight-region event with a USD 500,000 prize pool, while Garena Thailand’s Thai-language announcement detailed the fully remote schedule, three Thai qualification places and five broadcast languages. Participants played from home venues; this event had no physical host city or central competition venue.[1][2]
In the July 18 final, Thailand’s dtac Talon defeated Taiwan’s Most Outstanding Player 4–3. Garena’s Taiwan post-event report records Talon’s USD 200,000 champion prize. All 16 participants now link to canonical AOV Team pages. Three historical entrant profiles created for this edition remain without suitable individual cover images after searches of the official global and regional event sources. MOP has an official Garena team image and Overclock has its 2021 roster artwork from ONE Esports.[4][5]
The official global event page identifies the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand and Sports Authority of Thailand as event partners through their Garena Thailand collaboration. Bahamut GNN’s Traditional Chinese report independently names the same government collaborators and cross-checks Japan’s Z9 Gaming and China’s Team CIV in Group B. Both organizations now have canonical PTG profiles and sourced partner relationships.[3][8]

Thai public-sector partners
Garena named the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand and Sports Authority of Thailand as official partners for the 2021 global event after their collaboration with Garena Thailand.[3][8]
Historical participant resolution
The full 16-team field is linked to canonical AOV Team profiles. Three historical team profiles lack a suitable individual image after searching the official event and regional sources; the MOP profile uses Garena's official team image and Overclock's profile uses its 2021 roster artwork from ONE Esports.[3][5]
