Overview
Balbay’s career spans club and national-team basketball. The Türkiye Basketball Federation says he made 209 appearances for Türkiye across youth and senior levels and won the 2005 U16 European Championship. In 2024, the federation appointed him Americas Player Representative in its national teams department, with responsibility for monitoring Turkish youth and senior players in the United States; a 2025 federation report later identified him in that scouting role. FIBA’s record includes appearances at senior EuroBasket events and the 2019 Basketball World Cup.[1][2][4]
The FUT Esports profile lists Balbay as an investor from 2023 and identifies EuroLeague and Turkish league titles, along with Mediterranean Games gold, among his basketball achievements. The club does not publish his investment amount or governance role, so the sourced relationship establishes investor status without implying an operating position.[3]
