Find the right connection

OverActive Media is a publicly listed esports and entertainment company headquartered in Toronto. Its operating portfolio connects the Spanish-facing Movistar KOI brand with Toronto KOI in Canada, alongside commercial, live-event, content and talent-related activities.

Operating Model

The company reports revenue through team operations and business operations. Team operations include league-related and competitive revenue, while business operations include sponsorship, merchandising, content, agency work and live events. This makes OverActive one of the few esports-club owners whose operating mix can be followed through public financial statements.

Financial Position

OverActive’s Q2 2026 results showed how sensitive this model remains to event timing and league participation. Revenue fell after two large prior-year events did not repeat and after the company left VCT EMEA, while payroll and operating-cost reductions did not fully offset the decline in gross profit.

The same reporting period included a repeated warning that available cash was insufficient to support the following 12 months of planned operations. Secured debt financing involving directors and shareholders added working capital but also increased the importance of monitoring liquidity and financing structure.
