BackendX Inc. is a South Korean software company based at Pangyo Global Biz Center in Seongnam. It develops an AI platform for backend design, code generation, deployment and operations. The company’s official site identifies Moon Dae-kyung, also listed as DK Moon, as its chief executive. Kakao Games’ Sept. 2, 2026 announcement dates the company’s founding to July 2025.[1][4]
Product and services
BackendX describes a workflow that converts service requirements into technical documentation and backend code, then supports deployment, monitoring and operational response. Its product page illustrates this with an indie-game store backend covering player accounts, item catalogs, payments and virtual-currency delivery. The illustration describes a use case rather than identifying a deployed customer project.[2]
Kakao Games described BackendX’s technology as generating software blueprints through natural-language conversation and using approximately 50 AI agents to build, deploy and operate backends. This is a company-attributed technology description.[4]
Business model and founder
BackendX’s service terms define the product as a SaaS platform with subscriptions attached to individual projects. They distinguish managed hosting, customer-cloud deployments operated by BackendX and exports operated by the customer. Hosting and operations responsibilities therefore depend on the deployment option.[3]
Moon previously served as head of new technology development and a server team leader at Nexon Korea, and as chief executive of game server engine developer iFunFactory. BackendX’s own team page also records his Nexon and iFunFactory background.[1][4]
