PTG Database Analysis

The Asia Minor Championship was the Asian regional branch of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s Regional Minor Championships. Valve’s 2015 announcement scheduled the first regional Minor cycle for January 2016 and identified ESL as the Asia host in that cycle. Later editions had different organizers: Valve’s 2016 Seoul announcement names the PGL KeSPA Regional Minor Championship Asia, while its 2017 Major announcement describes the Asia Minor as one of four regional tournaments.

These events offered teams a path toward the Major qualifier. For example, Valve’s 2016 notice records eight teams competing in Seoul for a share of $50,000; the 2017 notice again specifies eight teams per region and advancement to the LAN qualifier. Valve’s subsequent RMR announcements document a different regional qualification system, so Minor-era organizer, format, dates, and prize details are edition-specific.
